In The Hospital, the gentle professional actor, Yan Cheng Xu, laughed so hard until his mouth changed shape and burped in public getting rid of the burden of being an idol
Because of The Hospital, Yan Cheng Xu got rid of the burden of being an idol. He laughed so hard that his mouth changed shape, burped in public, and even held a teddy bear pretending to be cute. After seeing the multi-sided Bao Long, even the director Cai Yue Xun said, "He is not an idol any more. He is an actor now."
In the drama, Yan Cheng Xu played the primary physican of the President's daughter which was played by Saya. Saya played the one who had Leukemia. In order to cheer her up, Yan Cheng Xu held a teddy bear pretending to be cute and said," No pain no pain. The surgery will be over instantly." This made Saya smile immediately.
Later, because of the power struggle in the hospital, the Su Yi Hua played Yan Cheng Xu was excluded from the surgery. When he watched the press conference on tv hosted by the Chief Surgeon who replaced his position, he laughed very hard until his mouth changed shape, finished drinking the red bean soup, then he even burped in front of a whole group of people.
The director, Cai Yue Xun indicates, "The original Su Yi Hua was more passive. My Su Yi Hua is more enthusiastic and very optimistic. After created this "laugh" with Bao Long, I am amazed that he could laugh like that."
When Yan Cheng Xu acted in The Hospital, he totally fulfilled all the requirements. For instance, there was a scene when he left Guan Xin's (played by Zhang Jun Ning) home, as he was too sad and he didn't pay attention, he lost his balance and fell down the stairs. Bao Long insisted to play the scene himself. Cai Yue Xun remembered, "The stairs were as high as a person's height. When he tripped over, his whole body flew down the stairs. I was shocked. Really scary!"
The Hospital did not just give pressure to Yan Cheng Xu, once, even Cai Yue Xun could continue directing only by continuous drinking. "I found out that once I sat in the director's chair, I could not get up. I was like a dead body. I couldn't move until I had a drink. I told Xiao Wei if anyone got hurt, I would stop from that moment." Cai Yue Xun was afraid that the team noticed his behaviors and got worried, he secretly put the alcohol in the bottle for Onlong Tea. Yu Xiao Wei was worried and mad at the same time, and she told him, "You are Cai Yue Xun. You can't act like this."
The production fee of The Hospital which has 25 episodes and 90 minutes for each episode is over 80 millions in total, with the average of over 3 millions per episode.
Yu Xiao Wei couldn't help sighing when she talked about the edited 18-minute opening scene, "That was a scene to challenge the limit of TW's drama history. That was the scene of a large-scale emergency operation played by Dai Li Ren. He edited it without even blinking his eyes. That scene costed about 1 million dollars! " The Hospital is scheduled to be broadcasted on CTV, August 15, 8pm.
